Leading By Example

Welcome to Martin Gottlieb and Associates. Business owner and philanthropist Mel Gottlieb takes his health seriously. He takes the health of his employees seriously too.

Twelve years ago, Mel suffered a heart attack. Fortunately he survived, but it was a wakeup call to change a few habits. Through diet and exercise alone, he completely reversed the path he was on. He doesn’t want to be on that path alone. He has created a culture of fitness that has spread to his 200 employees.

Mel is also the founder of Memories of Love. This nonprofit organization creates joyful memories for children whose parents have a life-threatening illness. In true Mel fashion, their signature fundraising event gets people active.

On May 24th, the Marty Bike and Run will feature a 5k Run, 25 and 50 mile bike rides and family fun run. Gottlieb employees are already gearing up for the event

Up until a year ago, employee Laura Roush was not an active person. After being threatened with insulin to control her diabetes, she decided to make some changes. She started working with the office trainer and began riding an exercise bike and doing a little strength training. She has now worked up to walking a mile. She decided to walk the Marty 5k to prove to herself that she can do anything she sets her mind to do. This will be her first race and she is hard at work increasing the distance of her walks so that she is ready on race day!
